These terms govern your use of this website. By using it you accept them. Your reservation itself is also governed by the booking terms shown at checkout.
Who we are
This website is operated by Corporación Turística del Bosque Nuboso S.A., cédula jurídica 3-101-504200, Monteverde, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, trading as The Original Canopy Tour. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to that company. The website exists to describe our tours and to let you reach our booking system.
Bookings are made through Flora Plus
Every booking button on this site opens the Flora Plus booking platform, which handles availability, reservations and payment. The prices and availability shown there are the authoritative ones.
A reservation is confirmed only once the booking platform confirms it. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a reservation where a tour cannot be operated safely.
Cancellations, changes and refunds
If you cancel at least 24 hours before your tour is scheduled to start, you receive a full refund of the amount paid.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start time, the amount paid is not refunded. Changes to a reservation can also no longer be made within that 24-hour window.
All deadlines are calculated using the local time of Monteverde, Costa Rica, where the tour takes place.
Good weather is required to run the tour. If we cancel because of weather conditions, you may choose between another date or a full refund of the amount paid.
Prices and information on this site
We work to keep the descriptions, schedules and prices on this site accurate, but they are indicative and may change without notice. If a price shown here differs from the price at checkout, the checkout price applies.
Participation requirements and safety
Our canopy tour is an outdoor adventure activity carried out at height. Guests must be at least five years old and weigh no more than 250 lb (115 kg), and must be in reasonable physical condition. The tour is not suitable during pregnancy or for people with serious back, heart or vertigo-related conditions.
You must follow the safety briefing and your guides' instructions at all times, use the equipment we provide as instructed, and disclose any condition that could affect your safety. Guides may, at their sole discretion and for safety reasons, decline participation in all or part of the tour — including to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
We run tours in exclusive groups of up to 10 guests, and no individual element of the tour is mandatory: you may skip the Tarzan Swing or the rappel.
Assumption of risk
Adventure activities in a cloud forest carry inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including those arising from height, weather, terrain and wildlife. By taking part you acknowledge and accept those inherent risks. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for our own negligence or for anything that cannot be limited under Costa Rican law.
Weather and operational changes
Monteverde weather changes quickly. We may delay, shorten, modify or suspend a tour when conditions make it unsafe. Where that means we cancel your tour, the choice of another date or a full refund described above applies.
Partner activities in packages
We operate the canopy tour ourselves. The companion activities included in our packages — night walks, hanging bridges, coffee tours and the trapiche visit — are operated by certified local partners, and each is subject to that partner's own conditions and safety rules.
Intellectual property
The name The Original Canopy Tour, our logo, and the text and photographs on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You may share and link to our pages, but you may not reproduce our content for commercial purposes without our written consent.
Third-party links
This site links to third-party services we do not control, including our booking platform, map and review services and social networks. We are not responsible for their content or availability.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, and any dispute relating to them or to this website will be subject to the competent Costa Rican courts.
