The adventure

Ziplining in Monteverde, the original way

Tree-to-tree design through the cloud forest — no towers, no long hikes between platforms. Just you, the cables, and the canopy.

10 ziplines through the cloud forest canopy

From gentle 60-meter flights to a full 800-meter run above the treetops, starting in primary old-growth forest.

The Tarzan Swing

An optional leap into a giant swing over the forest floor. Pure adrenaline — and nothing on this tour is mandatory.

Rappel & the giant fig tree

Descend by rope to the forest floor and climb back to the canopy through the hollow heart of a strangler fig.

Cloud forest wildlife

Howler monkeys, blue morpho butterflies and — if the mist opens up — the resplendent quetzal, with guides who know where to look.

Questions & answers

Planning your Monteverde zipline tour

How long is the canopy tour?

The zipline tour takes 2 to 2.5 hours, with five daily departures: 7:30, 8:00, 10:00, 11:00, 14:00. Free pickup from Santa Elena–area hotels runs about 30 minutes before your tour.

Is ziplining in Monteverde safe?

Yes. Our certified bilingual guides hold official certification in ropes and cables, every tour starts with a full safety briefing, and we provide and maintain all the equipment. We have flown guests tree to tree since 1994 — and nothing on the tour is mandatory: you can skip the Tarzan Swing or the rappel.

What ages can do the canopy tour?

From 5 years old, with a maximum weight of 250 lb (115 kg). No experience is needed — first-timers and families are the norm, not the exception.

How big are the groups?

Exclusive groups of up to 10 guests — you fly with your people and your guides.

How long is the longest zipline?

Our 10 cables range from a gentle 60 meters to a full 800-meter flight above the canopy — long enough to take in the whole cloud forest mid-air.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes — and the rule is simple:

  • 24 hours or more before your tour: cancel for a full refund.
  • Less than 24 hours before: no refund, and changes can no longer be made.
  • Deadlines follow local Costa Rica time.
  • If we cancel for bad weather: you choose — another date or a full refund.
How do I get there?

We are just minutes from Santa Elena. Transport from area hotels is free, parking is free, and you don't need a 4x4. Find us on Google Maps.

What should I bring?

Long comfortable pants, closed-toe shoes, a rain layer, and insect repellent or sunscreen applied before gearing up.
