The Original Canopy Tour in Monteverde

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit The Original Canopy Tour in Monteverde, and I must say it was an experience I will never forget. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the excitement and adrenaline in the air. This tour offers a unique blend of adventure, nature, and learning that sets it apart from other zipline experiences in Costa Rica.

Arrival and preparation

We started the adventure with a brief safety talk. The guides were very professional and friendly, which gave me a lot of confidence. They equipped us with harnesses and helmets, and before I knew it, I was ready to launch myself onto the first zip line.

The zipline experience

The first line was thrilling. I jumped into the void and felt the wind on my face as I flew between the trees. The view from above was simply spectacular; I could see the cloud forest in all its majesty, with its dense vegetation and the mist giving it a mystical touch.

As we moved from one platform to another, each zip line seemed more exciting than the last. There was one in particular that was very long and fast, and at the end of it, we landed on a platform built around a huge tree, which made me feel like I was in a giant treehouse.

The Tarzan swing

One of the most memorable moments was the "Tarzan Swing." This was a jump into the void that ended in a big swing where you swing at great height. At first, I hesitated a bit, but once I jumped, it was pure adrenaline and fun.

Additional activities

In addition to the zip lines, we also had the opportunity to do some tree climbing and cross hanging bridges. Each activity offered a unique perspective of the cloud forest and a dose of excitement.

The natural beauty of Monteverde

What impressed me the most was the natural beauty of Monteverde. Being in the middle of the cloud forest, surrounded by exotic flora and fauna, was a rejuvenating experience. The guides also shared many interesting facts about the area's biodiversity, making the experience educational as well as thrilling.

Practical information

For those planning to visit, it is advisable to book in advance as this tour is very popular. The tour lasts approximately two to three hours, depending on the group size and pace. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended, and don't forget to bring a camera to capture the stunning views.
