Is the Longest Zipline in Costa Rica the Best Tour for You?
How long are the longest ziplines in Costa Rica?
Some ziplines in Costa Rica are well over a kilometer long, and one of the longest is in Monteverde.
The Original Canopy Tour does not have the longest cable. Ours is about 800 meters.
That difference matters if your main goal is to ride the longest single zipline you can find. But it's only one part of choosing a tour.
What does a longer cable actually change?
A longer cable gives you more distance in a single uninterrupted ride. If that's what excites you most, length is worth comparing.
But it doesn't tell you how high you'll be, how fast you'll travel, how much time you'll spend waiting or what the rest of the route will be like.
A cable's length describes one part of the ride. It doesn't describe the whole experience.

What should you consider before choosing?
Start with what you want from the day.
Are you looking for one especially long ride or a route with several different ziplines? Is this your first time? What other activities are included, and can you choose whether to participate in them?
Those answers may matter more to your decision than cable length alone.

Who should choose the longest possible zipline?
If your priority is the longest single ride available, another tour may be a better fit. That's a perfectly good reason to choose it.
If you're weighing the whole experience, not just the longest cable, here's what some visitors valued about their time with us.
While others may have a few longer ziplines… In this canopy tour, the experience is much more personal and enjoyable

Why choose The Original Canopy Tour?
The Original Canopy Tour was the first in the world to turn canopy exploration into a guided tour. That is why it is called The Original.
Our tour has ten ziplines through the Monteverde cloud forest, including one approximately 800 meters long.
The zipline platforms are built into living trees, with short transitions and no towers between the ziplines. The route is designed around experiencing the forest, not just traveling along cables.
Groups are limited to ten guests, accompanied by the same two guides from beginning to end. Before setting out, you'll receive a safety briefing, and your guide demonstrates the technique on a practice line. You don't need previous ziplining experience, and first-time visitors follow the same route.
The experience also includes an optional Tarzan Swing, and an optional rappel alongside a hollow ficus followed by a climb through its hollow interior.
If you want the forest to matter as much as the ziplines, we recommend joining us. Our tour brings those experiences together, with ten ziplines, small groups, and the same two guides from beginning to end.
